From liberalization to a societal responsible regulation of infrastructures

This conference explores how important societal objectives can be taken into account in the regulation of infrastructures in a liberalized market setting and how these objectives may be translated into incentives for core decision makers in infrastructure industries. This so-called ‘value sensitive design of the governance of infrastructure regulation’ will result in different conclusions for different infrastructures. Het doel van de cursus “Presentatie Vormgeving” is om de cursisten zoveel mogelijk te leren van de programma’s Photoshop, InDesign en Illustrator afkomstig uit Adobe Creative Suite. De basis van elk van de drie programma’s wordt tijdens de lessen uitgelegd zodat de cursisten met weinig Adobe-ervaring een stevige basis krijgen. Degenen met wat meer ervaring komen ook zeker aan hun trekken omdat het tempo van de cursus aardig hoog is. Het is echter geen cursus voor echte gevorderden.

De cursus is een praktische cursus, gericht op wat studenten/medewerkers nodig hebben om (presentatie)posters, (studie)verslagen, beeldcollages en portfolio’s te kunnen maken. De docent biedt tijdens de vijf lessen ook hulp op maat bij projecten die men onderhanden heeft.

BNO Tallks 09 brengt daarom licht in de duisternis en organiseert op 22 september een editie over Apps & Tabs. De volgende vragen (en antwoorden!) passeren de revue: Welk platform kies je (IOS, Android, Windows)? Wat zijn de technische randvoorwaarden voor apps? Hoe ontwerp je voor staand en liggend formaat? Hoe houd je rekening met gestures in je ontwerpen? Hoe doseer je je informatie? Hoe vertaal je een 'brand' naar de tablet? Kortom: eigenlijk genoeg voor een heel congres, maar wij houden het voorlopig op een bomvol programma. Wees er snel bij!

MediaEval is a benchmarking initiative dedicated to evaluating new algorithms for multimedia access and retrieval.

It attracts participants who are interested in multimodal approaches to multimedia involving, e.g., speech recognition, multimedia content analysis, user-contributed information (tags, tweets), viewer affective response, social networks, temporal and geo-coordinates. MediaEval was established in 2008 as VideoCLEF, a track of CLEF, and in 2010 became an independent benchmarking initiative.

Zo introduceerde ProRail de CO2-prestatieladder om haar leveranciers te stimuleren om duurzame producten en diensten te leveren. OpenFOAM is a C++ toolbox for the customisation and extension of numerical solvers for continuum mechanics problems, including computational fluid dynamics (CFD). It comes with a growing collection of pre-written solvers applicable to a wide range of problems. It is produced by the UK company OpenCFD Ltd. and is released as open source under the GPL.

There is a rapidly growing interest and development of OpenFOAM at universities, research institutes, and industries. It is becoming an important platform for smooth and rapid transition of ideas, methods, and software developed at universities to research institutes and industries. Since it is open source all details of the used methods are available. Many companies are considering OpenFOAM as a cheap and flexible alternative to commercial CFD packages.

The growing interest in the Netherlands has led to an initiative for creating a Dutch OpenFOAM users group. The group is intended for the exchange of experience and expertise among OpenFOAM users in the Netherlands.

De workshop wordt gegeven in een kleine groep van maximaal 8 ondernemers. In een dagdeel nemen we de profielen door en delen we tips en trucs met elkaar. De workshop duurt een dagdeel waarin we interactief met elkaar aan de gang gaan. Een laptop is dus handig om mee te nemen!
Na deze workshop is je profiel en kennis van linkedin up to date en haal je meer rendement uit Linkedin.

Vandaag de dag moet alles vers zijn, perfect vers. Door hoge eisen van de consument, visuele afwijkingen, kort gestelde houdbaarheiddata, mogelijke plekjes en door afwijkende vormen belandt veel voedsel ten onrechte in de vuilnisbak.

Daar moet verandering in worden gebracht! Door middel van deze lunch willen wij, zes honoursstudenten van de hogeschool Inholland, voedselverspilling onder de aandacht brengen. De lunch zal bestaan uit  verse maar visueel afgekeurde producten. Het doel van de lunch is bewustwording van dit maatschappelijke probleem en het onnodig mislopen van omzet. Deze lunch biedt u, als beslisser en/of beïnvloeder, de mogelijkheid dit probleem samen met andere aanwezigen om te zetten in een kans.

Multimedia content has become ubiquitous on the web, creating new challenges for indexing, access, search and retrieval. At the same time, much of this content is made available on content sharing websites such as YouTube or Flickr, or shared on social networks like Facebook.

In such environments, the content is usually accompanied with metadata, tags, ratings, comments, information about the uploader and their social network, etc. Analysis of these "social media" shows a great potential in improving the performance of traditional multimedia information analysis/retrieval approaches by bridging the semantic gap between the "objective" multimedia content analysis and "subjective" users' needs and impressions. The integration of these aspects however is non-trivial and has created a vibrant, interdisciplinary field of research.

Based on the great success of its previous edition in Interlaken, Switzerland, the 2nd Summer School on Social Media Retrieval (S3MR) aims at bringing together young researchers from neighbouring disciplines, offering lectures delivered by experts from academia and industry providing a clear and in-depth summary of state-of-the-art research in social media retrieval.

Sinds 1980 is Ter Laak Orchids actief in de orchideeën. Onze nieuwe moderne potplantenkwekerij, gevestigd aan de Middenzwet 23 in Wateringen, heeft een omvang van 78.500 m2. De extra teeltlaag van 16.500 m2 boven de verwerkingsruimte, zorgt voor een meervoudige ruimtebenutting. Op jaarbasis produceren wij hier vier miljoen Phalaenopsis planten van de potmaat 12 cm. Daarnaast hebben wij een tweede locatie van 45.000 m2 aan de Middenzwet 7 in Wateringen in gebruik.
